How did that baby get out of my body?
I’m spilling it on Babble.com today–the story of how I left my OB practice and went with a midwife and doula for the delivery of my daughter almost two years ago. It was an experience I’m very proud of, and I’m happy to tell it. If you have any questions or live in the Philadelphia area and want a good recommendation for natural birthing advocates, let me know. I’m happy to help other women in what I think is one of the most important decisions of their lives: how they want to bring their babies into the world.
Not many people get paid to talk about their magic vaginas in public. I am proud to be one of them.

You have a magic vagina, too?! Mine can see through walls, what can yours do?
Mine can suspend speeding cars in mid-air. I think we should team up.
Was the MW Ronni Rothman? I live in the suburbs of Philly. I am having an HBAC in Feb 2012. Always great to hear large baby VBAC stoires. My 2 year old DS was 10lbs 3oz. A little disappointed to hear that you were pushed into an induction though. You did a great job getting your VBAC w/ all the obstacles put in your way. Pitocin is no fun!
I commented on the article, but wanted to say again how awesome it is to hear your story. Arielle was 9 ponds 8 oz and I managed to have her naturally as well. Our bodies are capable of amazing things if we just give them the chance!
