It was a beautiful spring day, and SuperWoman’s son—sometimes TalkMonster, sometimes SuperBoy—was getting a party for turning the fabulous age of four.
He invited eight mini-superheroes and their siblings.
So SuperWoman did what any ordinary woman would do to prepare.
She flew to the liquor store and spent $179 on tequila and margarita mix.
Then she baked four dozen cupcakes. From scratch.
She dressed the Evorable Villains, which is no small task, since they move at the speed of light.
And she raced back and forth from kitchen, to living room, to backyard for two and a half hours, handing out drinks and pizza, picking up her crying daughter, and making sure the superheroes stayed on the magic carpet while TalkMonster opened presents.
(She will admit, she did have help from her husband and in-laws.)
Finally, the birthday boy blew out his candle and bystanders began to eat the fantabulous, mind-boggling double chocolate cupcakes.
Guests started to disperse, but SuperWoman had one more mission to fulfill.
She had to defeat SmartGuy, who was hanging out in her backyard and drinking beer. Since he fathered no children, he was able to sit back and enjoy himself.
SuperWoman just didn’t think that was fair.
And so, by six o’clock, justice was achieved in SuperWoman’s suburban neighborhood.
All in a day’s work, people.

I’d have to beat on him, too.
It can only be done when one has a cape.

Those cupcakes were delicious!
And I thought I had WonderMess at my house! It must be the age. Happy Birthday to your boy! I do not look forward to my son’s birthday in 5 weeks. I am not making anything from scratch this time…ok, maybe a couple of things.
